Joseph Hayden and his siblings Sabina and Italo are 1/16th Muckleshoot through their patrilineage.  Under the charter of the tribe, based in the Auburn, Washington, they are not eligible for tribe membership, but Joseph's identity as part Native American is still important to him.  The Muckleshoot tribe is nationally recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C.  He found their official Muckleshoot web site below before it was finalized.  He gleaned it from the email address of a staff member of the tribe.  These pictures, which are believed to be public domain, are from that earlier draft of the web site.  They do not seem to appear on the current version.  Most of them speak for themselves.  The tribe is located in Aurora, Washington, as indicated on the map below.
